Athlete Guide

Preparing for Mountain Man Events:

  1. Sign Up – the earlier you sign up the more you save – Registration for July and August
  2. Set up a training schedule – Share your workouts with the Mountain Man community @trimountainman or #trimountainman
  3. Know the course – Check the course maps for details like aid stations and turnaround points. Send us questions, or join the pre-race talk at Saturday Packet Pick up
  4. Packet Pick-up
  5. Driving and Parking
  6. Spectators – hang out at the finish, find a good place along the course, but be sure to to park and walk off of the asphalt to ensure safety for you and for all athletes.
  7. Transition Area – Set up, spacing, time and reason for closure, athletes only
  8. Body Marking
  9. Race Start – Wave Starts, 1/4 mile walk to the start, Know your start time
  10. Course Markings/Signs – Cones and signs – examples and locations
  11. Know the Rules: USAT Most Commonly Violated Rules
  12. Be safe and practice good sportsmanship
  13. Cross that finish line – completing an event at 7,000 ft is a big deal!
  14. Post-race recovery and events – hang out, relax, have fun, and support other athletes. Food, games, and awards.
  15. Departure – race number check at transition (athletes only), traffic, drive safely.
